A few years ago, if you told me I could sit down with an idea for a game and actually start building it without knowing how to code, I probably wouldn't have believed you.
But AI is changing that.
So I decided to try something simple:
Can I turn a basic game idea into a playable experience using AI in around 15 minutes?
And that's how my little experiment with Seele AI started.
The idea was deliberately simple
I didn't want to start with some huge RPG with 50 characters and an elaborate storyline.
The idea was basically:
A simple browser game where the player has to survive, collect points and avoid enemies.
That's it.
The purpose wasn't to create the next GTA or Minecraft.
I wanted to see how far AI could take someone who has an idea but doesn't necessarily have years of game-development experience.
And honestly, that's where things got interesting.
Step 1: Start with the idea
Normally, the first step in game development would involve planning the mechanics and figuring out how you're going to implement them.

You describe what you want.
For example:
"Create a simple browser game where the player controls a character, collects objects for points and avoids moving enemies. Make the gameplay fast and easy to understand."
Instead of staring at a blank project, you have something to work with.
That difference is bigger than it sounds.
Starting is often the hardest part.
Step 2: Let AI turn the idea into something interactive

The important thing was that I had something to experiment with instead of starting from zero.
I could look at the result and say:
"Okay, this works. But what if I change this?"
And then iterate.
That's where AI becomes really useful.
AI doesn't remove experimentation
There's a misconception that AI game development means:
Type one sentence → perfect game appears.
We're not quite there.
Think of AI more like a creative assistant.
You bring:
- The idea
- The direction
- The gameplay concept
- The personality
- The decisions
AI can help you get from idea → prototype much faster.
And then you experiment.
Change something.
Try again.
Break something.
Fix it.
Try another idea.
That's actually the fun part.
So, can you really build a game in 15 minutes?
You can potentially create a basic playable prototype very quickly.
That's the exciting part.
But I'd be careful with the phrase "build a complete game in 15 minutes."
A prototype and a finished commercial game aren't the same thing.
A proper game still needs:
Good gameplay
Visual polish
Sound
Testing
Bug fixing
Performance optimisation
Player feedback
Distribution and marketing
So my takeaway isn't:
"AI means game development is now effortless."
It's:
AI can dramatically lower the barrier to getting your first playable idea off the ground.
And that's a pretty big deal.
But can you actually make money from AI-created games?
This is where we need to be realistic.
Yes, games can be monetised through things such as:
- Advertising
- Premium purchases
- Sponsorships
- Subscriptions
- Game marketplaces
- Licensing
- Affiliate opportunities
- Building an audience around your games
But creating a game doesn't automatically create income.
A technically impressive game can get almost no players.
Meanwhile, a ridiculously simple game can sometimes attract a huge audience.
The difference is often:
Game + Distribution + Audience + Retention + Monetisation
So if you're thinking about AI game creation as a way to earn money, don't just ask:
"Can AI make my game?"
Ask:
"Who is going to play it, why will they keep playing, and how will I reach them?"
That's the real business question.
Why I think this matters
The most interesting thing about AI gaming isn't necessarily that it makes professional game developers unnecessary.
I don't think that's the right way to look at it.
The interesting part is that more people can experiment with game creation.
A student with an idea can try it.
A content creator can build something around a video.
A teacher can create an interactive learning experience.
A marketer can create a branded mini-game.
Someone who has never written code can finally turn an idea into something interactive.
That's where I see the biggest opportunity.
My experiment with Seele AI
For me, the biggest takeaway wasn't:
"Wow, AI built a game."
It was:
"I had an idea, and within a very short time I could actually interact with something based on that idea."
That changes the creative process.
Instead of spending weeks wondering whether an idea is worth building, you can potentially prototype it first.
Idea → Prototype → Test → Improve.
That's a much more approachable way to think about game creation.

Final thought
Maybe the biggest change AI brings to gaming isn't that it can create games.
Maybe it's that more people can finally try creating them.
You don't need to begin with a million-dollar idea.
Start with something small.
A character.
A mechanic.
A silly concept.
A game you would actually want to play.
Then see what happens.
Because sometimes the best way to find out whether an idea is worth building is simply to build the first version.
